The Church of England Benefice
The Church of England parish of Powick is part of the larger united benefice formed in 1999 comprising:
St Peter's, Powick and St Mary the Virgin,
Guarlford and St Mary the Virgin, Madresfield
with St Leonard's, Newland
The benefice enjoys both a rural and urban environment, the beauty of the Malvern Hills is to the west and the busy historic city of Worcester to the north. The local parish church in Powick is St Peter's and there is a chapel of ease of St James in Callow End. The worship is central church with a variety of services taking place throughout the benefice on Sundays and week-days.
The resident incumbent is The Rev'd Sue Irwin who took office in March 2006. Her challenges include:
- Lead the churches in mission and ministry to the communities in which we live
- Create a strong pastoral presence across the benefice
- Build up bonds of unity between the church fellowships
